Collection: Smoke Collection

Available Saturday, November 16 at Noon ET.
Please read carefully before making a purchase:

This special collection was created with both commercial micaceous clay, terracotta clay and locally foraged clay that I collected and processed myself. The black markings on the pots come from being fired with organic materials such as Spanish moss, seaweed, sawdust and leaves. With these pots, I express my passion for clay, my appreciation for nature and my admiration for global indigenous and ancient pottery.

These pots are to be used decoratively, to bring nature and a sense of antiquity into your home. They are more delicate than my glazed ware because they have been fired to lower temperatures since clay has to be porous to accept smoke. While they are more delicate than the glazed tableware you’re used to, please keep in mind that so much ancient pottery was fired to similar temperatures and is still with us in museum collections today. Each piece will be packaged securely, insured for its full value and shipped by UPS.
